Donkeyman to lead annual Irish tour

Dear All,

To celebrate the 35th year of my donkey travels (1979-2014), I’ll be leading a Spring tour to Ireland.  And, fear not, if you can’t make it in ’14, I hope to be doing it yearly till they put me in my grave (2035, or thereabouts, I’ve been told).  Each year will take in a different section of the country-and the this itinerary is the first offering of many, I bray!

  1. We are just reading outloud your book “Last of the Donkey Pilgrims,” and just love every bit of it. We had a wonderful trip to Ireland in 2012 and would love to go back, if health permits. My one great grandfather, Matt Kennedy, was from County Wexford. My other great grandfather, David Lindsay Boyd, was from Clough, in Co. Antrim. We visited both places on our trip as well as most of the southwest coastal area, so we often know a bit about the places you are writing about.

What is your itinerary for 2014?

    Best wishes, Michael Boyd

  2. I met 3 lovely travelers on a trip to D.C. this May and they are going with you to Ireland this year.
Please keep me on your e mails for your next years trip.

  3. Hi, Kevin. My husband and I were planning a trip to southwestern Ireland in our near future. We had our passport already. Then in August of 2013, he died on top of Mt. Marcy during a hike. I am moving forward with our plans, one way or another (alone or w/friends). When I heard about your trips, I got very excited and decided I was going for sure. I enjoyed your travels w/Missie McDermott very much. I heard you are going in May this year. Unfortunately, I work in a school and wouldn’t be able to get away until early June. Do you ever go later in the spring? Either way, I’d love to attend your informational mtg. When and where will it be held? My friend, Maureen, who has some Irish ancestry, would like to go as well.

  4. Hi Kevin, I don’t know if you remember me, but the Director and I invited you to be our guest author at the Adams Free Library a few years ago. I am now retired and would love to visit Ireland. I have friends who are on the 2015 trip with you now, and I so wish I could have gone. I hope you will do a trip in 2016. Please keep me in your email contacts.
    Thank you, Lorraine Kalisz

  5. Donna and I just loved the May 2015 Ireland tour. It was made even better with your presence, and of course – herself – Belinna! And Joe Clancy was absolutely marvelous. What a beautiful country! Just what I hoped Ireland would look like. In doing further research on line, I realize that we got a “premium” tour with the Aran Islands, the Dingle Penisula, the village of Cong, Bunrattay, the Baskin Islands, and many other pleasures including the 5-star accommodations. And who could forget those young musicians at the pub; or the wonderful Irish step dancers – just for us. And special thanks to all the great people on the tour. We all became fast friends.
